Mausloeum of Galla Placidia
The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, built in 425 A.D., with its unique early Christian mosaics, is one of the eight amazing UNESCO World Heritage sites in the city of Ravenna.
Amarganta is a mosaic workshop in the heart of Ravenna’s historic centre, where creativity takes centre stage and mosaic-making becomes a shared experience.
“I am a mosaic artist based in Ravenna, where tradition and innovation coexist in my work; I consider myself a specialist in mosaic flooring. Following my training at the ‘Gino Severini’ Institute of Art for Mosaics and my experience at SICIS, I have developed a personal style that combines traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary vision.
I create works for public and private spaces: floors, wall coverings, murals and installations, overseeing every stage from design to installation. My work stems from a dialogue with the architecture and context, with a focus on materials, light and the rhythm of surfaces. During my years in New York, I broadened my approach by working on large-scale projects.
Today, in addition to commissions, I run workshops and courses at Amarganta, alongside my twin sister Roberta, an atelierista and educator, in a hybrid space where creativity takes centre stage and mosaic becomes a shared experience.”
