I’M A MOSAIC – Da Severini, Sironi, e Fontana a Paladino, Plessi, e Samorì is an exhibition, running from October 12, 2024, to January 12, 2025, organized in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna and hosted at the MAR – Museum of Art of Ravenna. The exhibition celebrates the hundred-year history of the Mosaic School of the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna, tracing a journey through 20th-century contemporary art: from the origins of the mosaic revival in Ravenna in the 1920s to the end of the 1950s. Light, matter and color, fragment and recomposition are the guiding themes of the exhibition, presenting a dialogue between the works of some of the most important artists and movements of contemporary art. From Gino Severini, Achille Funi, and Mario Sironi, to Lucio Fontana and the Transavantgarde of Enzo Cucchi, Sandro Chia, and Mimmo Paladino, leading up to the most recent contemporary works, with installations by Fabrizio Plessi and several significant pieces by Nicola Samorì, Ugo Marano, and Aldo Mondino.
