
Mausloeum of Galla Placidia
The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, built in 425 A.D., with its unique early Christian mosaics, is one of the eight amazing UNESCO World Heritage sites in the city of Ravenna.
From 18 October 2025 to 18 January 2026 Ravenna will host the 9th edition of the Biennal of Contemporary Mosaic.
A rich programme of events will involve the whole city, with the opening of its most suggestive places to artists from all over the world.
Monuments, museums, cloisters and symbolic spaces will become exceptional galleries, in which ancient and contemporary art will be in constant dialogue.
Many events and guided tours will accompany the public to discover a Ravenna that has been, and still is, the undisputed Mosaic Capital.

MARC CHAGALL E IL MOSAICO

Dates: 18 October 2025 – 18 January 2026
The MAR exhibition event, dedicated to one of the most important masters of the 20th century, will open the kermesse.
Starting from one of Chagall’s masterpieces in the museum’s collection, Le Coq bleu, the exhibition traces the great master’s artistic career through the mosaics he created, his projects and collaborations with artists and mosaicists from Ravenna.
